Boredom and conflict show up before starvation
A household that can cook one hot meal and play cards will outlast a household that only bought freeze-dried fear.

The social failure mode of a blackout is irritability, bad sleep, and people making dangerous trips because they cannot stand the apartment. Plan for morale like you plan for calories: a way to make something hot, a game that does not need a screen, a job for each person, a limit on alcohol.
The trip is the early failure. A dark road, a closed store, or a crowd assembled by other people who also could not stand the room will hurt a household faster than an empty pantry does. Hunger is real and slower. The first nights are lost at the door.
Sleep belongs on the same list as food. A house that is cold, lit by one harsh lamp, or still arguing at midnight will make worse decisions on the next day than its calories require. A warm drink, a dim light, and an agreed quiet are how adults remain fit to hear a radio or turn a valve.
The fights start as accounting. Who charged what. Who ate the easy food. Who left. A named job for each person, including the one who feels useless, is accounting decided ahead of time. Jobs invented in the dark to keep someone busy feel like a slight. Jobs agreed on Tuesday do not.
News diets matter. A radio check a few times a day beats a continuous drip of rumor from a half-charged group chat.
The check has a time, and then it stops. A radio murmuring all day is only a different drip. Between checks the work is the meal, the game, the stair, the neighbor. Alcohol makes the gap louder than it was. The limit is there because a long evening is a bad time to be worse at judgment.
If you can keep the household kind for a week, you have bought the time in which outside help, if it is coming, can arrive. Kind, here, means a hot portion, a fair job, and nobody sent outside to cure boredom. It will not look like a drill. It will look like a dull evening that did not get worse.
